I'm running into a situation where, after some random period of time or due to some event, my horizontal scroll bar turns into a solid black bar. Closing and reopening SF doesn't fix it, necessitating a reboot. I've gone through every preference looking for something I may have inadvertently messed up, but all else seems normal. Has anybody run across this before? |

I ran into a similar problem once. It was under Windows XP, so take it for what it's worth. I didn't like XP's eye candy, so I had it set up to run the "classic" appearance in every way I could find. When I ran into the UI problems in Sony software (such as scrollbars!), I had to let XP look like XP, and that was the end of it. |

Thanks for that. Yes, this is XP Pro, and I use the Classic look as well. Though on my previous system, which ran XP Home, I never had this problem. |

Your System Specs have you running Windows 2000, which is why I included my disclaimer. |

Wow, I haven't even looked at that in years! Thanks for pointing it out, I've updated. |

I run classic look in XP Home and Pro and haven't encountered the problem. Sorry - that doesn't really help. .. Update graphics card drivers maybe ? geoff |

I had this problem in Acid 6.0 and WinXP with the "Classic" theme. I solved it by turning off the option "Use Windows themes" in Acid Preferences. Not sure if SF has the option (not at home to test right now). |

Yes, by jove, I think that's done it! I unchecked "Use Windows XP Theme Support" and my scrollbars magically reappeared! Thanks for that. Now I just hope this sticks. |
