Subject:How to make a violin sound like....a violin?!

So I've been trying forever to figure out how to get the midi violin to sound like a violin (soft attack) and not like a piano. I have Acid Music Studio 7.0 and have tried adjusting the attack but that does nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I don't know names, but I've read that there are specialised soft synths which can be purchased that have recorded samples of strings with almost every variety of stroke, fast up strokes, slow upstrokes, fast/slow downstrokes etc etc.

I've purchaseda few additional soft synth sets, and used a mixture of staccoto samples and sustained samples to achieve quite satisfactory results.

This is with Acid Pro - I don't know to what extent you can add synths to Music Studio.

Please fill our your system specs in your user profile.

What version of Windows are you using?

Are you using the ACID supplied DLS Soft synth?
If so, which voice/patch/program change are you using?

While the DLS GM sound set is not the same as a dedicated orchestral sound library, it does have a number of patches that should let you achieve close to what you want.
