My SoundForge 9 stutters sometimes during recording. I think it's when I am opening another application or saving a file in another application or something like that. But that should not be a problem. I did a search but didn't find anything useful in the forum here. Are there any settings I can adjust easily? My PC is an emachines T5088 (Pentium 4) with 2G RAM, sound card is Emu1212m. OS is Vista Home Basic. |

If you're a tweak geek, you can try setting a higher thread priority for your sound card and / or recording program. Other than that, I don't know of much you could do. Most of us are careful not to multitask while capturing or recording, and turn off as many background applications as possible. |

Exit all unnecessary program and services. Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, screen savers, ect, ect, ect. Nortons anti-virus utilities is especially well known to cause problems with DAWs and NLEs . |

In addition, I take the extra precaution of shutting down the network / internet connection, just to avoid the temptation! I've ruined a couple of renders by thinking I could sneak online . . . |
