Guys, I have Soundforge XP (4.5f build), Acid Pro 1.0, and CD Architect (lastest version). I've noticed that the songs (wav file format) that I have have sligthly different volume levels when playing them on my computer. Some songs' volume level may be high and some other songs' volume level are lower. I keep the volume knob on my amplifier at a constant level but why is it that the wav files I play keep having different volume levels? Using the above softwares I have, how do I correct this problem. I want my wav files to have a near constant/equal volume level. How do I go about doing this? |

First of all consider the source that your recording from, cd-rom, cd-player, or cassette tape, phono. This makes a big difference, What are you recording with? soundforge, or other software. As I'm sure you know, there is a difference between sound levels of cd's recorded 3 to 5 years ago compared to cd's recorded lately.Take a look at Audiograbber, and exactaudiocopy, you can adjust the levels before you record, rip to mp3, etc. |
