Will V9 capture HDV

8c will not capture HDV from my sony properly. All the audio gets shoved to one side of the file. So as a workaround I have to capture in Premire and then process that file with mpeg repair program. all this is time consuming. Will 9 capture from my hdv 1000u camera?

Something must be wrong with your computer then. Using 8.0c, I can capture HDV with no problems using either my Canon XH A1 or my partner's Sony FX1.

Check to make sure your sound card is not out of whack. Use another firewire cable or make sure your firewire port is 100%.

Since it works on Premiere, perhaps you should do what Sony calls a "clean install" of Vegas (that means uninstalling EVERYTHING Sony, deleting all Sony folders and using MSCONFIG to turn off all non-microsoft services and startup stuff.) It's a pain in the rump, but perhaps your hdv capture utility got corrupted or something?

Thanks, I thought it strange it wount capture correctly. I do recall in the past Ive had to reinstall Vegas and that usually cleared up whatever issue.
