Subject:AKAI MPD24 midi pad controller as CONTROL SURFACE?

I'd like to have an AKAI MPD24 for entering MIDI percussion.

I'd also like to program it to function as a CONTROL SURFACE for Acid Pro 7.

QUESTION:
Can the MPD24 transport controls, faders and knobs be set up to operate various aspects of Acid Pro 7?

P.S. I read here recently that the Presonus fader/controller does NOT work.

Why is it that most of these control surfaces don't work with Acid? There is plenty of other software that can utilize them. Using the mouse for all of the controls can get really annoying. If Sony is so particular about these devices they should make one of their own, and it shouldn't cost a fortune. C'mon, throw a dog a bone.

Acid works very nicely with the Mackie Control Universal. If you want a deluxe control surface get the MCU. If you can't afford a real MCU get one of the cheaper devices that emulates the MCU.

I use a Behringer BCF2000 which works very well, and I know that people have also successfully used the M-Audio ProjectMix. There are probably several other devices whose MCU-emulation abilities would allow you to use them nicely with Acid (and Vegas).

The Generic control driver should work fine with the AKAI.

i recently got a MPD32 from Akai and wondering, there are no drivers for ACID from Akai. Does anyone know why ACID is so badly supported ?
I checked Novation's controllers as well, and their Automap software is not supporting ACID too, but all other sequencer!!!
Is ACID going to die soon, or is support from Sony's ACID Developers just too bad for these companies ?
These manufactuers are all supporting Ableton's Live, Propellerheads Reason, Cubase, Sonar, etc. nativley...why is that not possible with ACID ?

Some vendors like M-Audio have posted XML files for many of their devices that can be used as a control surface that one can download and use with ACID.

If not, it's merely a question of setting one up yourself (by adding a generic control and go through the steps of having ACID "learn" the controls on whatever you're using).
