I went for the V9 upgrade along with the Audio Studio as the freebie of choice. It's said to contain the 1,001 Sound Effects, but I have no idea where they are...
Correct, the 1,001 Sound Effects are not included in this free downloadable version. These are only available with the stand-alone version of Sound Forge Audio Studio.
But frankly, I'm disappointed. It should have been mentioned the downloadable version of Audio Studio doesn't contain effects - I'd have chosen the Sound Effects Series instead :(
Are the 1,001 ones worth the extra bucks? I think yes.
The 1,001 Sound Effectsare includes these categories

In my opinion, Sound Forge Audio Studio is a much better value than the free Sound Effects sampler disc option. The sampler disc only contains about 200 sound effects.
I use Sound Forge 9 but selected Sound Forge Audio Studio to get the Vocal Eraser. Does the Vocal Eraser work in Sound Forge 9 if I do not install Sound Forge Audio Studio?

Sound effects that you create yourself are often better than anything that you can download and/or buy. Fool the mind; fool the ear...
When I was designing sound for a children’s musical, Pinocchio I think, I remember telling a lighting designer that the BBC sound effects set (big bucks!) sounded British to me. He was incredulous that sound effects could have a nationality. I stand by my statement.
As I am about to journey to the UK for Grad school, perhaps my next foleys will sound American to my schoolmates.
