Jerky video using EX1

I filmed my son's college graduation using a Sony EX1 at 1920x1080 24P which is the setting I have used in the past. However this time I created a BD with DVDA after e diting with Vegas 8.1 (64). I used the Vegas and DVDA defaults for best quality VBR 2-pass.

I noticed when watching the BD that when I panned the camera the video was jerky. Holding the camera without panning gave me a really good high definition picture. When I burned a regular DVD the jerking was nowhere near as evident and looked almost normal.

Other than the possibility of the 24P being a problem is there another setting I need to make within Vegas or DVDA or possibly in the EX1?

Two things to watch for would be shutter speed / angle and detail in the EX1.
Best to set the EX1's shutter mode to "Angle" at 180deg. You can also simply try turning the shutter Off however at 24p that might look too filmic.
Also try reducing the Detail setting to -20 to -30. Too much detail / sharpness can impact motion smoothness.
I can't think of anyway to improve your problem after you've shot the video. You could try adding 1 frame of Motion Blur with a setting of asymetric gaussian but I've never been happy with that but it's worth a try.
