I posted a mesage this morning and didn't get any replies
along with the other people below me. But some guy puts in
a question an hour ago and gets 5 replies already?!?! Could
someone please answer my question that is below? thanx

Well, I personally try and help out everyone here as much
as possible, when I can. If you really want an answer to
your problem, you need to write a detailed step-by-step
process of what you are doing to create this problem. This
will allow other users to see what you are doing and narrow
down your solution for you. If you ask a vague question,
where it will take someone else 10 more question to drag
the real problem out of you, then most people will not put
forward the effort. I also won't answer questions that are
very easy to figure out, if the person asking the question
would not have taken 10 minutes to read a section of the
manual, then don't expect me to take any of my time to
answer it. A lot of questions also have to do
with "experience", just like the question
on "normalization" that never got an answer in this forum.
Someone asked what's the best technique for normalizing.
Well the answer is to try them all out and see what results
you get and decide for yourself how it fits your particular
application. Unfortunately SF does not have seperate
forums for advanced users and beginners like Nuendo does,
so if your question is a new user question, most advanced
users won't take the time to answer a 1 part question with
a 10 part answer. Again, this is why you need to be more
specific of what you are doing to create this problem, so
other users can guide you and can see where you're going
wrong. If you say my sound is distorted what am I doing
wrong? Well this is very vague and can have a million
different reasons, this is audio we need to know all the
steps it went through and processes you did to it in the
order you did them, to find the "root" cause.

That makes sense. You make some very good points. In
relation to one of my earlier posts, I wish there was a way
to access these groups through standard news reader. I
think that would attract more users, and in turn, more
questions would get asked, and answered.

Hello,

Since this is a user forum, I like to let the users help
each other if possible. I try to answer as many questions
as possible, but it is not possible for me to monitor this
forum 24 hours a day. We are also closed on weekends,
which is why you did not receive a response until now.
