Hi; In the "extract from CD" dialog it correctly shows my Pioneer DVD104, but will not show any tracks. Judging by the DVD activity light, SF is trying to read the drive but nothing shows in the tracks window. The drive works perfectly with everything else (UltraPlayer, MS Mediaplayer, PowerDVD etc.) so I know the drive is working correctly. Any ideas what to check? TIA HalD |

Hi, the same is true for me, it does show both Drives, a Lite-On CDROM LTN403 and a Plextor CD-R PX-W8432T but no tracks. What OS are you running, W2000 i guess. BTW,if i choose CREATE CD i get a NO Device. Sent an email 2 days ago to SF Support for the NO Device, had not tested extraction before, got a usesless response yesterday. Are you able to use....with other pgm's? Of course check that you are using the latest firmware? Of course Check for 16-bit(DOS) device-drivers. W2000 |

Right - neither the extract CD or Create CD works. I would bet this is an SF5 bug. I use Win2k. No reply from tech support yet - I would imagine they are swamped, with a bunch of the same problems. Hal D |

Are you guys using VIA chipsets? If so, using the VIA busmaster drivers in Win2K can create this problem. The MS drivers in Win2K work just fine with the ATA100 hotfix (if you have an ATA100 controller). -S |

I'm using an Asus CUSL2C that has the Intel815e chipset. No problems with CD use - except for SF5 |

I FOUND the answer to the problem: TA DA! It's the Intel UltraATA 100 support drivers! Win2k cannot support the Intel 810/815/815e chipsets with out the Intel driver upgrade. Unfortunatly the older (mine were 10/2/2000)drivers report the drives (ALL OF THEM - hard drives and CD drives) as SCSI when they are not. This confuses all kinds of software that access CD drives. The answer was simple - go to the Intel ATA driver download page, http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/storagedrivers/ult raATA/tti010.htm and download and install betaata2_enu.exe This solved the problem of no access in 4 programs.
