Subject:Acid Music Studio 7.0a drops VST plugin synths

Hi, I'm really new to Acid so it's possible I'm doing something completely wrong. I find that Acid seems to "forget" certain VST plugins in the middle of a session. The Korg M1 Le simply drops out of the list of VST plugins and I can't add it. Also, even though I've saved a project with a properly-selected, working M1 Le synth, when I restart Acid and open the project, it says it can't find the plugin or was "improperly loaded." Often, if I just go to the configuration tab for VST and re-scan, it shows up, but Acid has already replaced the synth in my project with that default piano. Any ideas ? Thanks ! I have the Korg Digital Collection which includes the M! and the Wavestation. I do not have the problem you speak of..... however.... I realize that the LE version is of course different than the full version. On the full version it uses a dongle (syncrosoft), so what kind of protection scheme does the LE verson use? I have noted in the past that plug-ins can act pretty crazy when they are not installed/activated correctly. Do you have another piece of music software to test it in besides Acid? That way you could determine if its Acid not being able to properly scan it, or if it your installation of M1 LE that is the problem. Anyway, hope something in my rambling helps :) |

Thanks. M1 Le is authorized via a text code you enter at Korg's web site, which then returns an authorization code. That part went ok when I installed the product. The standalone soft synth works just fine. It's just the VST plugin used in Acid that is giving me fits. I have Protools LE, but am just starting to learn it. I'll try it in Protools. Cheers! |

Pro Tools does not support VST, so unless you have a RTAS version it will not work in Pro Tools. Lame I know, but have you tried simply uninstalling it and deleting all files connected to it and then reinstalling? For whatever reason it sounds to me like a dogie plugin issue. Sometimes a reinstall helps. Also, be sure you are using the latest version of Acid Music Studio. I use Acid Pro and it is up to version 7.0c so just check and be sure :) To check the plug in another host you might download Reaper (google reaper and cockos) which is a VSTi host that is pretty stable. Install it and see if you have problems in it. That will tell you if the problem is in Acid or the M1 LE plugin...... I actually have a license for Reaper, but I hate it. It is quite powerful, but for me not very creative. Acid on the other hand is magic (okay, I like to rewire Orion or Renoise in it some, but still.....) |
