how do I get the .mid files in the media manager to recognize the actual sound. All I hear are the piano keys. I have linked the soft DLS soft synth and those files still do not work. I am able to establish a correct midi signal with all the other VST plug ins, etc. that I have installed. |

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile. Where did thes midi files come from? If a MIDI file does not have a patch/voice associated to it, then ACID will default to voice 0, which is a piano sound. Once the midi file is added to the project, you can select the voice from the track. The DLS synth in ACID is a GM sound set by default. If these midi files are part of the media supplied with ACID Pro 7, they have a dls sound set associate to them. You have to load that DLS sound set into the DLS synth for the correct voice to be heard. Peter |

Ahhh yes, this was one of the great features of my former host, Project 5. In P5 any midi file in the Explorer would play using whatever instrument you had on the currently selected track. So, you could have your sampler loaded with the drum samples you were going to use in the project on a track. Simply select that track, go to the explorer and any midi files selected would be previewed using that sampler. That way you could hear the midi file play with the actual sound you were using in your project. P5 is no longer developed, and AP7 is a better overall program anyway.... but that was one of the things really nice in P5. Perhaps Acid Pro 8 will have such a feature.... I just hope there is an Acid Pro 8........Really need to get the word out at places like KVR where lots of VSTi/loop users hang out..... anyway.......... |
