Subject:CDA in 5.0

Not that I support 5.0 and the abandonment of CDA but, do I
remember correctly that CDA update 'g' was for the purpose
of using CDA as a "stand-alone" program and not as a plug-
in? I never loaded it so I'm not sure.

Also, along with many others of you, I have sent SF a list
of improvements to 5.0 and urged them NOT to release it
until they seriously considered our requests. Did any of
you get any response from SF? I didn't. I kinda feel like
they don't really care what their users think.

Why couldn't they give us a "break" ($49.95, maybe?) in the
DOWNgrade price since we have already bought their stuff?
(Not that I would take it.) If they are offering 5.0 for
$99 to "beginners", they must not be that proud of it or
are very concerned about keeping their current customers. I
use 4.5 and love it and absolutely DO NOT consider myself
a "beginner"!

Just in case anybody is interested in reading my list of
improvements that I sent to SF, E-mail me @
OnTrackRecording@Juno.com and I will be happy to send you
the attachment.

Happy Editing!

No...it's a true bug fix and driver update. It
says it will only work with 4.5...not 4.0.
Assume it can be used standalone...by the way,
in this case, "standalone" pretty much means that
it installs XP as the host and plugs in to that if you
don't already have a full version of Sound Forge.
Installing as "standalone" has the benefit of creating a
shortcut icon that launches CD Architect directly, but you
can even do that if you are running it as a plug-in for 4.5
by doing the following:
1) Creating a copy of your existing Sound Forge 4.5
shortcut icon
2) Right click on the (new) shortcut icon and choose
Properties.
3) For target, put a space after the existing path and
add "/TOOL:CD Architect" (including the quotes).

Now when you click on the shortcut, it will launch SF4.5
and CD Architect. Hope some of you find this info useful!
Add it to your tray or Start menu for quick access :)

Regards, Brent
