There was talk almost two years ago about getting the Melodyne plug in to work in Acid Pro 6 & 7.

The product is so important to the future of music making, I am surprised that Sony and Celemony can't find a way to make the plug in work.

Symptoms are the same every time. Hiccups, distortions of all sorts, unusable vocal tracks.

The best pitch, amplitude, formant, etc in the world, not to mention the only polyphonic program that treats audio as if it were midi, has there been any progress in finding out why the two are incompatible.

Any suggestions?

I've been waiting for an answer as well. Seems the two companies dislike one another. Sony always sounds lackluster about this issue and Celemony sounds almost gleeful that their product isn't compatible with Acid. I forget the exact link, but a year or so ago when I last checked the Celemony website, they mentioned compatibility issues, listed the "approved" DAWs, others where issues were being looked at, and then Acid, which they almost sneeringly said they had no intention of investigating. Maybe they're waiting for a free copy from Sony, while Sony is waiting for a free copy of Melodyne. Who knows?

Peter, it would be lovely if you would shed some light on this rather than saying "We're still looking into it..."

Meldoyne plugin gave me A LOT or problems with ACID 6 and 7 so in the end I got rid of it and got Auto Tune. Auto Tune still causes problems but its considerably more stable than melodyne was with AP7. It is still not perfect though, some strange glitches and crashes.

So, any news on compatibillity with melodyne / Auto-tune and AP7?

BTW, I found a workaround for using ACID and Melodyner together, but its a pain and doesnt solve the glitching problem.

At the end of each session delete all of the instances of Melodyne. Next time you open your project you will have to re-add them all, I found this really helped with preventing ACID from crashing when trying to load the melodyne plug-in.

I solved the problem of getting Celemony/Melodyne to work in Acid Pro a long time ago. Here’s one of my post helping out another Acid user. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=1&MessageID=621912
This works in version 6 and 7.

RangerBob, it's true that your method works if you have the full version of Melodyne 3. But it doesn't work with the plugin version.
