Subject:MP3 Opens in SF9 but not SF7

I have several MP3 files which play fine in winamp, media player etc.
They will open OK in SF 9 but will not open in SF 7 giving me "none of the files in dropped in Sound Forge could be opened".

Any ideas what the problem may be???
