I think they are traveling a slippery slope going the "web- based content" route. While SF hasn't totally adbandoned music it sure hasn't put much effort into it. I do like the new additions to SF 5.0 but I still go back to what I used before, another company's editor. A small word of advice: keep your eye on Syntrillium this year! You may end up dumping SF altogether. In fact, not ONE person here has mentioned Cool Edit Pro once! I take it you guys really haven't looked at it. Don't let the name fool you! It offers a HELL of a lot more than SF. |

I already dropped it and went to using CEP. I'm very happy. And, now that all three XFX plug-ins are available for less than $100, you can pretty much get all you need using CEP (including noise reduction, which cost a lot of extra $ to get in SF). The rumor mill also says that CEP will be even better later this year when the new version hits the street. I suspect it will be even more of a combination of Vegas and SF. On a good note, I still like using Acid Pro and Stream Anywhere. |
