| Subject:Exporting Regions Posted by: Laverance Date:2/9/2001 4:49:57 PM I'm trying to figure out how to export regions into individual wav files. Thanks |

In scenarios where you have a single file containing a number of different tracks (IE a live set, or when digitizing an entire rare cassette or vinyl album) it's nice to work on the whole thing at once when doing EQ, noise reduction, etc. But when you are done, it would be nice to divide it into Regions and be able to export all regions as either .WAV files or .MP3 files. I sure hope this functionality made it into SF5.0. -Brent |

Yeah...that works but I was thinking of something a little more automated. Like an item under the File menu called "Export Regions..." that brings up a modal dialog box allowing you to select some or all regions for export and choose the desired file format. For file names, it would just use the Region name plus the appropriate extension. |

I like to drag regions from the "view regions" list onto the "view playlist", then right click and select "convert to new". This makes one big file with just your regions omitting all the edited-out areas. This is then imported into cda with "use regions" option to automatically create tracks. - very efficient for editing live shows. > why not just select a region and drag it > out of the window to create a new file? >Yeah...that works but I was thinking of something a little more automated. | Subject:RE: Exporting Regions Reply by: BrentA Date:2/10/2001 12:13:10 PM Ahh indeed! That is exactly what I was talking about and it was there all along. For some reason, I expected to find functionality like that under the File menu. Guess I should RTFM more often :) Thanks for the tips! Regards, Brent |
