Is there any way to record live the audio output from a softsynth in AcidPro7? I realize I can freeze the midi track or render to a new track, but what I want to do is record live the audio output while I am adusting the internal parameters of the softsynth. Thanks. |

Nothing in ACID directly allows this. Why not just record the automation as you manipulate the soft-synth? You can set up the soft-synth's bus to listen to and record the moves you do in the soft-synth as envelopes. You can also set up the MIDI track to record in merge mode and simply record the CC msgs on top of the track. This would depend on the VST Instrument you are using. (What Soft-synth are you trying to do this with?) Another alternative would be to route the output of the softsynth to a hardware port, route the hardware port back to an input port and record it that way. This is not a great solution, but would permit you to record the output of the soft-synth. Peter |

I am using a Reaktor ensemble running on its own internal arpegiator. I am unable to use your first suggestion as the soft synth contol that I am trying to use is not listed on the soft synth parameter automation screen ( or at least I cannot identify it). Is there any way to manually assign a soft synth parameter that is't listed? The second suggestion you made worked OK. I was able to assign the controller on the soft synth a midi controller # , and record this on the a midi track. as you suggested. Your third suggestion I did not try but it should work as this is essentially the same as recording from the analog audio output from an external hardware synth. Thanks for your suggestion and I appreciate your prompt response. Richard |
