Hey All, I'm running Pro7 on windows XP home,a few days ago my Mic Died, it was a Condencer with XLR connection...anyways...I bought a Samson C03U USB Mic.
After some hair pulling(my own)....I managed to get it to work with windows....Then I started up Pro7...After some more hair pulling(not much left now).....I managed to get the Samson to show in the "Default Audio Recording Device list"....but that was after I changed the Audio Device from Creative ASIO...to Windows Classic Wave Driver....but the problem is...I'm getting No Signal on my Record Armed Track.....My choices in Audio Device is....Microsoft Sound Mapper, Direct Sound Surround Mapper, Windows Classic Wave Driver....and..my usual setting..Creative ASIO.
I've tried all the variables with all of these Audio Devices....and the only set-up that gives me a signal from the USB Mic on my recording track is....
Audio Device = Direct Sound Surround Mapper....and...Default Audio
Recording Device = Primary Sound Capture Driver......Now I'm getting a signal on my record track...BUT....I Cant Monitor It.....in this set-up.....I Cant monitor anything I'm Recording ....Ya Know....the little button on the Mixer track module that lets you toggle off and on or auto the input monitor. The only time I can Monitor the input of what I'm recording is when I've got the Audio Device set to Creative ASIO....Then I'm back to no signal at my record meter.....I just wanna lay down some vocals.....lol.....Help!

ACID Pro 7 requires the use of ASIO drivers to allow for software input monitoring.

In general, solutions like the Samson USB Mic are not great for the workflow you desire.

The problem with these USB Mics is they are input only. Even if they had ASIO drivers, you could not hear anything.

The only solution is to try ASIO4ALL for such devices. You will not get low latencies in general, and attempting to synchronize the input from the mic with the output of your Creative will be difficult.
