When I record to SF 4.5 a live mix from an outside mixer I get one file that contains 8 or 9 tracks. When I want to burn a cd with that information, how do I mark the tracks so that the cd will have track marks??? |

Very easy to do if you are using CD Architect: 1) First edit any unwanted parts out in SoundForge. Mute out feedback, electrical pops, overly long gaps of between- song silence, etc. But don't clean it up too much if you want to retain that "live" feel. 2) Trim off unwanted portions at the beginning and end of the set -or- select the portion of your set that you want to use and hit "r" on the keyboard...this will define a Region and allow you to name it. 3) Okay, now import your single .WAV file into CD Architect. This will add the entire file to your tracklist. If you have a defined region to use, clear your tracklist/playlist, and in the Audio Pool double-click on the name for the region you defined above. 4) You will see a visual representation of your set, and can probably see where the songs end. Position the cursor between each song and hit "t" on the keyboard...this will create a track division. You can then zoom in and, using your ears and eyes, adjust the track start and end points however you like. If you wish, you can position extraneous noise like tuning, etc. into the between track area. Your whole set will still play continuously, but the CD display will show a negative countdown (or countup rather) into the next song. It's pretty cool and one thing I love about using CD Architect when working with live sets. Of course, CD Architect is now discontinued, but that's another story... :-( Regards, Brent |
