I've had AP7 for months now but not used it. Had to finish the album I was working on in AP6...(shameless plug: www.myspace.com/withagee ) . Launched AP7 and tried to add Jamstix but it failed. I haven't investigated it much other than doing a search which turned up only a couple of posts with Jamstix 2.x mentioned. Anyone else run into this issue? Haven't been on this forum for a while because I was still using AP6 and not prepared to dive into AP7 issues yet. thanks. Geoffrey. |

Bought Jamstix 2. Launched AP6 and did its normal thing when adding new vsts (no problem). Launched AP7 and AP7 did not "recognize" either version of Jamstix because it failed to add it in the vst list. Do I need to specify a path for Jamstix within AP7 for it to set up the vst in its available vst list? |

Does Jamstix appear in the failed folder? If it does, then right click on it and have ACID rescan it. If it does not appear in the list anywhere, try a manual scan from the Plug-in manager toolbar. Peter |

Hi Peter, By the way, is it possible to delete plugins/folders that appear in Unavailable Folder in Plugin Manager? All plugins I uninstalled continues to appear in Plugin Manager. TIA. Miquel. |

By the way, is it possible to delete plugins/folders that appear in Unavailable Folder in Plugin Manager? No, you cannot currently delete/clean out the Unavailable Folder. This has been requested and considered for a future version. All plugins I uninstalled continues to appear in Plugin Manager. This was intentional. This way you could use something and make edits to it in the Plug-in Manager. If for what every reason the plug-in was uninstalled, you could reinstall it and all of your edits would not be lost. While this may not seem like a big deal, if you had edited a large number of your plug-ins into categories and such and then had a disk crash that forced you to reinstall your plugs, you would have to re-create all of the data in ACID for those plug-ins. However, I don't see a problem with allowing a user to delete this data intentionally Peter Message last edited on5/17/2009 3:33:27 PM bypwppch. |

I don't know about a failed folder. I designated the path to jamstix with the vst plugin manager then had it scan... AP7 confirms that it "yes" is scanned now but does not show up in the list when I want to add a soft synth. Below is the path to the .dll, is that what Acid is scanning for? C:\Program Files\Vstplugins\jamstix2\jamstix2.dll When I start AP7 and I can see what it is loading on the initial splash screen I see jamstix2 appear so AP7 acts like it sees it at that point. I also posted at Rayzoon. EDIT: Found the failed folder and it was there. R click and rescanned; now it shows up in the soft synth list. So if plugins end up in the failed folder a manual designation of the path and rescan using the plugin manager will never resolve the issue? You gotta know to check the failed folder, yes? Thank you Message last edited on5/27/2009 2:20:18 PM bywithagee. |

So if plugins end up in the failed folder a manual designation of the path and rescan using the plugin manager will never resolve the issue? You gotta know to check the failed folder, yes? Not really. The typical reason for a plug-in to appear in the failed folder is that it took too long to scan. ACID has an internal time out (10 secs) on waiting for plug-ins to initialize during scanning. There are other causes for the scan of a plug-in to also cause failure. This is the reason for the failed folder. You can locate the plug-ins you are expecting to see and rescan for them. This is all covered in the ACID Pro 7 user manaul. I highly recommend reading about the new features in ACID. Peter |
