Subject:Help with USB mixer

I have a BCD2000 by behringer running as a generic host controller
I am getting a BCF2000 which you can run as a mackie controller.

problem
The BCD has a serious lag on moving faders.

Can this be resolved?

Will the BCF be different and not lag?

Can I alter FX with the BCF (you cant with a generic controller)

since this forum won't allow me to post my own question, i'll post this in reply to yours (sorry!) and hope for the best. At least it's USB-related, sort of. Can anyone explain why I can't monitor ANYTHING live? I'm trying to record vocals, going in via the USB port. Vocals get recorded but I can' t hear them during recording, and I can't hear the previously recorded tracks either, which, as you can surmise, makes the whole effort worth exactly zero.

At first i was denied the ability to post a message, but found I was allowed to reply to one. As soon as that happened, I was also allowed to post a "new" one.

I know it's hard to believe given my posts, but i'm actually a fairly intelligent person.
