I don't have much experience, but I like to create a medley of songs to accompany slide shows. I have Soundforge 7.0 on an XP computer. I can blend one song into the next, but I often find that the two pieces of music were recorded at different volume levels. What can I do to equalize the audio levels? JPJ |

The quickest method for you would probably be to normalise each track using RMS settings (not peak in this case). One of the drop downs is music(?). Apply that process to each track, and that should give you a fairly consistent level across each track. Another method would be compression, but the first method is simpler. |

That worked like a charm, Kenny. I always Normalize, but have used the Peak setting. I will leave it in the RMS mode from now on. Thanks for the tip, Kennymusicman. JPJ |

Use peak/RMS depeninding on what you're working on. In this case, RMS seemed suitable. But caution with it, as you can easily cook levels too hot and clip. But glad to hear you're sorted :) |

I'll watch out for that, and thanks again. JPJ |
