What's your point?

I guess the point is that he feels he got more for less money last time around. If you don't like it don't buy it. Speak with your dollars.

The law of the software jungle says everything decreases in value as time goes by...lowest just before the introduction of new software. Same as everything else.

I don't know who you bought that from, but it wasn't Sony. A "brand new in the box" Vegas direct from Sony has always been between $550 and $600.

And the V9 upgrade price is only $185. Sounds like a steal.

Where do you see the $185 upgrade price? I only see $249.95 (packaged) and $234.95 (download). Is there another offer available somewhere?

I have no problem with the $185 upgrade... it is a steal. But didn't most of us get an email with a Promo Code when V7 and 8 was released with a great upgrade price bringing it down to $149? Again, not complaining, maybe the $185 is the 2009 price. But I believe last time those who jumped quickly didn't get the lowest price. Anyone else remember this?

Does any body around here read anything for themselves? Save $50 if you order now!!! Geez

"Upgraders will save $50 during our introductory period and get their choice of a NewBlue Sampler Pack, The Sony Sound Effects Series sampler, or Sound Forge Audio Studio software."

This is the deal...period and end of story.

Those who paid more before getting the lower pricing from the email link only had to call customer service to get the discount.
rique wrote on 4/24/2009, 11:02 PM
When you add it to your cart along with your qualifying serial number you get the $50 discount.

Obviously there was a small Oops in the first day of selling the V9.

Sony found it and I got the following mail:

Thank you for your recent Vegas Pro 9 upgrade pre-order. In reviewing your order, we noticed that the special introductory upgrade price was not correctly applied to your order. You were originally shown an upgrade price of $234.95, however your order qualifies for the promotional price of $184.95.

So now we're just looking forward to receiving the new great version.

Does the additional free software become available in May when v9 ships, or can you download it right after you place your order?
