I can only hear the sound of input instruments (guitar) when the track is armed for record.

I can't hear the sound when input monitor is on.

any ideas.

That is how it works:
Input monitoring is for when a track is armed.

If you want a live input, then set up a input bus and route that to the track as its input source.

does an input bus allow you to hear live playback through fx? - edit yes it does!

But do I have to setup an input bus for every audio track or can I have 6 guitars on the same fx?

You can set up an Assignable FX Send Bus and then send each bus to the send. It will not be recorded, where as when you put the FX on the input bus it does get recorded.

You will also need to send from the tracks as well to achieve the same mix as once you are done recording, the FX will no longer be present.

Basically there are multiple ways you can set this up. It is what works best for you.

Can I email you some screen shots of my setup?
I also have 3 other questions in the forum that are unanswered that are to do with setting up our school rock band the best way.

Thanks
