OK Folks, I'm going to do my best to describe this. First...: I am using midi files that I have used for years in Logic. I have never experienced this with any other midi/audio software. It does not happen when I play the midi file via MicroSoft player or other midi players (Nero etc...) on my computer. Only happens after applying soft synths. I use... ARIA, Garritan Personal Orch, Kontakt 3 mainly. I get random volume spikes that piersingly squeal from my monitors. Sometimes they hang until I close the program. The spikes do not always happen in the same place each time in the midi file. I just experienced one that made the Master levels on ACID jump to 689.9 in Red. It does seem to go away if I drop each track and the master volume levels. My current master setting is at -5.1 and all of my tracks are down to 36-57. This is unacceptable. It seems to happen on any midi files that I use. Is it possible there are volume settings in the soft synth modules? I do use a Mackie 1402-VLZ pro mixer. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

This sounds like its more to do with the instruments than ACID though I can't be sure. I know that using Edirol Orchestra its very prone to 'hangs' where by it gets stuck on a note that holds indefinitly. Becuase of this there is a button inside the program called PANIC which resets the sounds, stopping the note from playing. Ive never experienced this problem with any other instruments though. |
