I've been using Sound Forge 7 to digitize a series of oral history interviews, and saving them as both .wav and mp3 files using the 128 setting on the mp3s. But I see there are several higher-quality settings which result in bigger files. If I plan on making the files available as digital downloads for mp3 players and CD players that also play mp3 files, is 128 the correct setting to use, or should I save them at a higher-end setting? Thanks for any advice you can give. |

128k .mp3 is more than adequate for spoken interviews, either for download or on CDs. |

And if you save them as mono files, 64Kbps is probably way more than enough. |

Yeah, I would have mentioned that, but many .mp3 players and cell phones won't play mono files. |

Thanks for your replies! You've saved me a world of re-doing files. |
