I'm looking to see if soft encode can do the same thing as a Dolby SEU4 surround encoder or will it only encode to ac-3? An LT RT pair can be burned to a conventional CD and played through any Dolby Pro-Logic compatible receiver (which lately even small boom boxes support) generating an LCRS mix. I'm looking into surround recording of live shows and have found that most of my potential clients would be perfectly happy with the mono surround of 4 channel not to mention that if done properly the LT RT pair will play fine on a regular stereo. This drastically simplifies delivery 'cause I can use regular CDR's (some day DVD burners will get cheaper, but in the mean time...) Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated!!!
