If i buy that softencode software can i create
and play my own Dolby Digital sound with my setup

I have Denon Dolby Digital Amplifier and 5+1 speaker
setup..

You will need an audio card that has a S/PDIF connector and supports
opening in a special format for Dolby Digital.

Only one vendor every released a driver that supported this - AdB -
and they nonlonger produce the card.

Digital Audio Labs was to release a version of thier CardD Digital
drivers to support this. I don't believe it was ever released though.

I don't believe that the SB Live supports the special wave format
required.

hello,

please try the sound blaster 5.1.
this needs driver liveware 3.0 to decode the signal.
this will work for all ac3 decoders with SPDIF out on sound
card.
