Is there some way to permanently change the default key in new projects? I know once create a project you can change the key manually, but sometimes I forget and get some ugly results with key mismatches. Jack |

Why? Do you write all of your songs in the same key? If so you should experiment with different keys, an album would get awfully tiresome if it was all the same key. But to answer your question, no i dont think you can. |

You can set up an empty project in the key you desire and save it. Then when you want to start a new project in that key simply double-click that .acd file. ACID will launch and load that empty project with it's key setting. Make sure you Save As to a new file name immediately or you'll overwrite the blank project and it won't be blank anymore. Setting the empty project's .acd file to read-only would be a good idea. Nifty thing is, you could create 12 empty projects in each of the major keys and save them all. You could have a list of files like a.acd, f-sharp.acd, b-flat.acd, etc. |

Thanks for the brain kicker as I hadn't thought about doing it that way; was thinking more along the lines of opening a new project by clicking on the 'New' icon or using the menu drop-down item. Guess I'll just have to adjust to a new way of thinking/working which isn't all that bad. Jack |
