While a project including only wav files will mostly work fine, as soon as I include MIDI events, I can rarely play more than two measures before I start hearing the infamous cracking noises... I've tried resetting the audio, increasing the ASIO buffer beyond 100 ms, but it doesn't make any difference, the cracks reappear after a few seconds. Any idea on what other settings I should change in the hope to get a clear sound all the time? (I'm using an E-MU 0404 USB with ACID Pro 7.0b). Thanks in advance, Mathieu

USB can be picky when it has to share bandwidth with devices on the same controller (even if it's USB 2.0). Try placing the 0404 on a USB port on another controller alone if possible. (You can tell what's using what in Windows' Device Manager.) Also make sure the 0404 is doing USB 2.0 instead of USB 1.1. Might want to contact E-MU to see what they say as well. HTH, Iacobus
