Rendering videos for iPhone?

I have a timeline consisting of about 60 short clips that I would like to convert (preferably into 60 separate clips) so I can play 'em on my iPhone.

I realize I'm about to take some flack, but nonetheless, here goes...I'm still on VMS 6.0. (Hey I like it just fine, and it doesn't crash! I believe in the "don't fix what ain't broken" rule...so until I switch to editing HD video, i'm stickin' with 6.0!!!)

Anyway, I believe the iPhone format is mp4, 320x180, 16:9. So two questions:

1) First, is there ANY WAY to batch render those 60 clips? I just realized that it will be painful setting the in & out points for each one and rendering 60 times over. Any way to set 60 sets of in-and-out points, then render all 60 at once? If not, this would be a pretty cool feature to add to VMS!

2) Second, anyone know of a quick-n-easy way to render or convert that video for use on an iPhone? Either right in VMS 6.0 (preferably), or if not, the right 3rd party app to use?

Thanks!
Mick

not sure if vms 6 has this ... the vegas pro version does and i am sure more current versions of vms...

when rendering ...select MainConcept AVC/AAC (.mp4)...look in the template presets and you will have the Apple ipod templates which of course are fine for the iphone/ipod...i use 640x480 preset for my iphone all the time...

Unfortunately VMS 6.0 doesn't have that preset render option...before I go the upgrade path, any recommended free 3rd party tools that will convert an avi to that format? Perhaps Super, or something else?

Handbrake is a good converter.
http://handbrake.fr/

VideoLan will convert files to .mp4 h.264.

The alternative is to render to a format that iTunes will recognize and it can do the conversion for you. I'm sure AVI, MOV, and maybe others will work.

I'm not sure what VMS 6.0 will do so this is the best I can come up with. Sorry.

I actually found out that the latest version of SUPER has a preset for converting to iphone mp4 format...tried it and it converts successfully. However I'll check these other tools out too, in the hopes that they might be more straightforward to use or faster.

Thanks!
