Subject:Audio Device Tab Settings

In Acid 7 Pro, every time I begin the program, my audio device type is set to "Microsoft Sound Mapper" and I have to manually change it to ASIO. (I'm using an M-Audio 192 Card). In 7b, with the addition of the "Enabled multi-threaded synth playback" checkbox, that is also cleared whenever I open Acid, even if I check it, click Apply, then OK on a previous session.

Is there a registry setting that I can change to force ACID to remember my previous settings?

Thanks! :)

Follow-up..

None of my changes (to the Preferences) are being saved after I close out the application and open it up again.

Follow-up #2...

I see the settings in the registry. They aren't changing, despite me making changes to the app and closing it out. It appears that the application isn't updating the registry values? Does a service have to be running or something? What am I missing?

This should just happen.

Something is preventing ACID from existing properly when you close it.

Are you using any external MIDI hardware? Do you have any MIDI inputs or outputs enabled in ACID?

Try this:
Reboot you machine
Start ACID
Change some settings
Exit ACID.

Run Task manager.

Look in Task Manager's Process tab for acid.

If you see it, then something - most likely hardware - is preventing ACID from exiting.

It took a simple reboot to fix it (go figure). I'll keep an eye on this though, because I know in times past, I have seen multiple acid.exe processes in the task manager.

Thanks!!! :)

Good to hear.

It would still be helpful if you answer the questions I presented.

Thanks

Are you using any external MIDI hardware?
* MPD16 (not plugged in 90% of the time)
* M-Audio Oxygen8 v2 (plugged in 100% of the time)

Do you have any MIDI inputs or outputs enabled in ACID?
* I use midi inputs for recording midi (form my keyboard or mpd16). I don't use midi-outs though, only soft synths.
