Has anyone experienced volume swells during playback of your recorded tracks? I'm working on my first project since upgrading to pro 7 and during playback of my tracks, the volume will increase and come back for no reason. Any remedies? Thanks! |

I have not heard this at all. mixing in 7 has been rock solid. what kinds of recorded tracks? recorded MIDI or WAV? A few things come to mind that might be the culprt: 1. If it's MIDI maybe it's velocity 2. If it's WAV maybe you have some sort of dynamics control or other FX on the track or on a buss/master that is causing that effect? Try "Bypass All FX" if you are using FX. 3. You have a volume curve that you can not see because it's either on a buss track/master (which are hidden by default) or on the track itself but the track is too narrw to show envelopes. 4. There is something going on after it leaves acid (not sure what sound card you are using or what external gear you have between your sound card and your speakers). EDIT: One more theory after listening to one of your songs on your myspace page: maybe you are overloading the mic/preamp/audio interface during record and it's causing an in-and-ourt effect on the actual WAV that's being recorded. Have you opened the individual track in the chopper or in Sound Forge to see if you also hear the swells? Message last edited on3/22/2009 9:53:07 AM bydarrena. |

Thanks for th reply darrena! It turned out to be your third point. For some reason the volume curve was tweaked at misc locations. I corrected it and all is good. Thanks again! |
