Subject:ACID seems to make E-MU 0404 default to 44.1 kHz

Hi,

I use ACID Pro 7 with an E-MU 0404 USB interface that supports up to 192 kHz, but when I select a frequency higher than 44.1 kHz with E-MU's control application, then start ACID, the card always reverts to 44.1 kHz... I tried to change the audio settings in ACID, but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a known incompatibility? Or am I doing something wrong?

This is sometimes tricky to get right. First make sure you are using the ASIO driver for the E-MU 0404 in the ACID Preferences under Audio Device. Then set your project to whatever sample rate you want that the E-MU supports and choose the option to save this as the default for all projects. If ACID complains, ignore it and save it anyway. Then go to Options | Preferences | Audio Device | Advanced and check that the E-MU is set to the same setting. If not, press Configure..., which should bring up the E-MU control panel, and set it there. This time ACID should be happy with changing the setting.

What normally happens is that the application controls the sample rate. Setting it outside of ACID has no effect because ACID sets it back. When I change ACID between 44.1K and 48K it tells my M-Audio FW410 to change it's rate and if you check the control panel you can see the rate changing. So you want to get ACID to use the correct rate.

Good, thanks. It actually works, once you set everything in the project options, the EMU card obeys :-)
