Crash when reopening project with any VSTi. I setup a channel with any VSTi, that includes KitCore, Garritan Player, SampleTank 2. It does same with Rewire devices.. It will play projects with only Loops and wav files. and reopens those fine. Thats it!!! I just bought this and now it will not work. please help!! Even freezing the VSTi Track does not work!!

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile and allow them to be viewed.

What version of Windows are you using?

Something to try:

Hold down Ctrl+Shift when you start ACID. This will force ACID to reset all of its internal preference.

I did the reset and here is the crash:

Thanks for the details.

You get this when you attempt to load a project containing VST instruments as you outlined in your original post?

Please fill out your system specs and answer my previous questions.

I filled the specs in last night. Happens no matter what VSTi I use.The most recent crash info was after I reset the prefs. I disabled the Media Manager and it did same.

Steve,

You need to expose your system specs to that others can read it.

You do this by checking the box next to

"Display system information on my forum profile page."

on your "Forum Settings" page.

What version of Windows are you using?

What version of the EMU drivers are you using?

With the Media manager disabled, you get the same dump?

Let me know which version of the drivers you are using. (I thought you were using the EMU, but that was a different user.)

Are you using ASIO or Wave Classic drivers with ACID?

Of the presonus Drivers I use 2.46(newest) and the UX2 is 3.4.3.1 I use ASIO with either of those.

Something else it does is not open ACD files. It throws "The reason for the error could not be determined." I am unable to preview files anywhere. I am having a go at defragging my HDD . Just in case that is the issue. Not sure. I do tech support for a living so I am growing weary...

You are experiancing some very abnormal behaviors. ACID may just have a corrupt install.

Try deleting this file:

acidpro.plugincache.xml

it is located in your user local settings folder under

Sony\ACID Pro\7.0

If this does not help, then you may want to completely uninstalling ACID 7 and starting from scratch.

Happens with WMA or Wav. Have not tried any other type.

Did deleting the file I specified help?

Deleting did not help. I installed ACID on Windows 7 and it works like a champ.not sure what the issue is.

That indicates that something is wrong on your Vista box. I have no idea what it could be.

Do you use any virus software? If so, have you tried disabling it?

There have been reports that some virus software prevents plug-ins from loading.
