Which tool do i use to balance the volume on sections I have combined and edited? |

The "Normalize" tool is a good place to start. You can match peak values, or average RMS levels if you select sections individually. Message last edited on3/8/2009 9:58:55 PM bymusicvid10. |

bigmark, musicvid gave me the same good advice when I had the same question, and Normalizing with the RMS method is the best way I've found to do this. The Peak method didn't work for me because if one of the selections has more "intense" sound levels (higher average levels), it can seem much "louder" even if normalized to the same peak level. Unfortunately, the RMS method is only available in the full Sound Forge version, so if you have the Studio version, the RMS option will not appear in the Normalize dialog.
