Subject:ACID MS 7.0a vocal recording issue

I'm recording vocal tracks for voice overs onto ACID MS 7.0a and some of it records garbled. I'm using a Behringer 1002 mixer, good mic and EMU0404 ver2 ASIO driver. I've played around and adjusted the recording hw latency and buffer and even ASIO sampling, but it still happens from time to time on whatever setting and when it does, I sometimes have to junk the entire track. (Unless I'm not getting the right balance of settings down) Funny thing is, recording via Sound Forge 8 on the same computer using the same driver/gear, it doesn't seem to happen. I have 1 GB ram, about a 1.6 GHz Pentium which *should* be plenty. Anyone experience this and have resolved or know about this issue and have a resolution? Thank you. |

need to know more about your system... typically, for best performance, you need a separate drive to "capture" to. drives should be defragged regularly (usually before recording) as well as other maintenance, etc. btw, are you trying to capture single or multiple tracks? are you running other non-audio apps simultaneously? Thanks for your reply and help. The PC is just used for recording (it's XP, SP1, what other info would help?), so nothing else is being run on it. Will analyze if defragging is recommended and will consider a 2nd HD, makes sense. Just single track is being captured. And again, Sound Forge 8 seems ok under the same circumstances and levels are not over modulating. Thanks again. |

I'm having the same problem with my laptop. I am running Vista with 1 Gig of Ram and I'm using a USB mic because I can't afford a good external sound card at the moment. However, the old computer is running XP with less RAM and with Acid Pro 6 has no problem with the vocal recordings sounding like that. Let me know if u solve the problem. |
