Subject:Acid pro 7 and Kaspersky - disappearing wav

If you are having problems recording into Acid Pro 7, via Microphone, Guitar, or any other outside source. You may notice your finished .wav file has disappeared after you are done recording. There is a strange compatibility flaw between Acid pro and Kaspersky internet protection.

Disable Kaspersky's real time protection and your wav files should appear as normal after you record from an outside source.

It may even be possible to set a rule for Acid through Kaspersky. I havent tried that yet.

But as for now Kaspersky users should be immediately aware of this. I unfortunately didnt figure it out until i reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything starting with Windows Vista Ultimate 64, Sony Acid Pro 7, and finally Kaspersky. The insubordinate culprit! There may be other compatibility issues with other security problems but haven't come across any yet.

Someone on another blog also brought to my attention that it might of been a memory problem. Turning off other applications including ones in the background. But i have been using acid for years while at some points running 2 different photoshop programs and recording the screen with programs like camtasia, all at the same time with no problems what so ever. So i know its not a memory problem.

I hope this helps anyone with the similar problem. I know it drove me crazy for a couple days trying to figure it.

And the Answer is: From Kaspersky

Both Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 have features that make them fully customizable with just about any application. If you run into issues with another software product, please try these steps to resolve:

Trusted Applications

Often, putting the main files from a program into the Trusted Zone within Kaspersky resolves many compatibility issues:

· Open Kaspersky

· Click on Settings

· Click on Threats and Exclusions

· Click on the Trusted Zone button

· Click on the Trusted Applications tab

· Click on Add

· Click on the Browse button, and then the word Browse in the drop down menu

· Browse to the location of your .exe file for the program you’re trying to add

· Click on this file and then click Open

· Check the four check boxes when you are returned to the Trusted Applications box

· Click on Ok

· Click on Ok

· Click on Apply then Ok

You can view a walkthrough of how to do this here:

Exclusions

In Kaspersky, you can choose to exclude a specific file, folder, or even an entire drive from scanning – either real time or a specific scan task. If you add an object to the exclusions, it will not be scanned as long as it meets the criteria that you create:

· Open Kaspersky

· Click on Settings

· Click on Threats and Exclusions

· Click on the Trusted Zone button

· Click on the Exclusion Masks tab

· Click on Add

· Make sure that “object” is checked

· Click on “specify” in the lower box

· Browse to the location of your .exe file for the program you’re trying to add

· Under component, click “selected” till it reads “any” action (or the module you would like)

· Click on Ok

· Click on Ok

· Click on Apply then Ok
