I'd appreciate any advice here. I'm Normalizing my wave file with these settings: Avg RMS Apply Dynamic compression is selected Attack time = Release = 100ms I'm normalizing to about -13db Equal Loudness contour is not checked Not matter what level I Normalize to, the left channel is limited to -0.5db and the Right channel to -0.0 db. I'm SF6. Is something wrong here? |

If your average program level is already higher than the RMS compression level you choose, normalizing will have no effect. This can come into play if you are working with a highly compressed source like some rock music, or field recordings that are clipped, etc. So, if you set your RMS norm to -13dB, and your track is already at -12dB RMS, there will be no change. It's easy to check in advance by clicking "Scan Levels." |

thanks. I was able to move up the L channel of the wave file by Normalizing just the L channel. Message last edited on2/17/2009 5:34:05 PM bywheat667. |

Changing the normalisation on one channel only will stuff up your stereo imaging. Is there any reason both channels need to be exactly equal ? geoff |
