Does anybody know if there is an upgrade path to the new Ozone 4 for those of us using only the mastering package that came with Sound Forge 9? I've emailed Izotope but haven't heard anything yet. Edit: End of story. Here's the official response from Izotope: "The Mastering Effects bundle that comes with Sound Forge 9 was licensed directly to Sony and as such is not part of the Ozone family. Therefore there is no upgrade path." Message last edited on2/5/2009 9:09:52 AM bysean@oregonsound.com. |

Thank you for posting this. I e-mailed Izotope about it long ago but never got a reply. The Ozone 4 is looking good. I'm thinking about getting it after seeing some of the reviews. Anybody here get it yet? Do you recommend it? |

Just got it a few days ago. I'm not a sound engineer so I love the all the presets--many more than Ozone 3 (which I had only purchased a week earlier). Ozone 4 has six categories of presets. One category, Post and Broadcast, has 15 different presets. I used the "Voiceover-Loudness Maximizer" preset on a documentary which contains a variety and male and female voices. It really helped the voices punch through the music and raise the overall volume without clipping. Really friendly interface too if I want to tweak any presets. Along with Rx, which I use first to clean up location interviews, my work is sounding a whole lot better. I can highly recommend both tools. |
