Sync problems while recording -ACID Product Family

Subject:Sync problems while recording Posted by: Mekon Date:1/30/2009 8:40:02 PM I am having some problems with recording in Acid Pro 6.0; and Acid 7.0 Express. I put an audio file in one track ( the song that I want to play to). Then I arm and record a guitar part. I'm using GuitarPort to record the guitar part; However, when I playback the song with my guitar part, they are out of synch. I tried fiddling with what driver I was using (settling upon the ASIO GuitarPort driver) but to no avail. It is not my machine that is the problem; I downloaded Reaper and everything recorded perfectly in synch. Any ideas? D./

In my experience if the setting is too high (in order to record without delay), upon playback the tracks might not be in synch. I then move/drag the recorded track in the timeline to synch with the target track after recording. Or lower the latency setting. You might have to experiment depending on your system. But if thta's not it, I have also found that sometimes effects (DX or VST) can sync/timing delays in tracks. Try bypassing all audio FX (there's a command in one of the menus for this) and see if everything lines up.

I opened a sample project and did all sorts of recording with my GuitarPort with no latency issues. However, when I place a .wmv or .mp3 song clip on the time line, I still cannot record in synch with it. When I placed the clip on the time line, I did not beat-map it. I did try to beat map then record, but it seems like I still had the same problem. Any ideas? I looked at the clip properties and nothing jumped out at me that could be causing this issue.
