Subject:No midi in after midi port reset

I am using a laptop keyboard midi program (Bome's Mouse Keyboard) as input to a virtual midi router (LoopBe) into acid pro 7. It all works fine until I get a stuck note and must use the 'Tools' menu command to Reset all MIDI ports.

Thereafter, the MIDI segment of the project becomes useless, as I cannot receive
MIDI input any longer. Any ideas as to why the 'Reset all MIDI Ports' causes this?

Thanks

To be clear:

You loose MIDI Input when you select "Reset all MIDI Ports" from ACID's Tool menu?

Can you tell me exactly how you have enabled Bome's Mouse Keyboard and LoopBe in ACID? Be as specific as you can.

Thanks
Peter

1. load .acd which has ARIA SoftSynth inserted and Full Strgs KS in Channel 1
Midi track has LoopBe as input assigned to channel 1 and has a check mark next to 'Send MIDI input thru to MIDI output. (MIDI track output is SoftSynth ARIA on channel 1.)

2. I can play the SoftSynth keyboard using the mouse, and it produces sound.

3. When I give focus to the Bome program, playing the keyboard (Z,X,C,V,B,N,M...) produces NO sound, but the Bome 'keys' do depress accordingly.

4. LoopBe is selected as 'Make these devices available as MIDI input' under Options/Preferences/MIDI

Something to try:

Open the General Preferences page in ACID.

Locate

"Close audio and MIDI ports when ACID is not the active application"

Uncheck this and click OK.

I found this that should solve all of your problems:

Bome Mouse Keyboard

Thanks to Johnny Roy for posting this on his web site.

I forgot to mention (Johnny Roy's instructions from the Bome website) that this was already done. So, no, the problem isn't resolved. Furthermore, I opened a new ACID project and the Bome keyboard function still does not work. It's as though the problem may be Vista related? It's odd, because it did work initially, but using the 'Reset MIDI ports. function may have set something awry.
