On two separate computers using Vegas Movie Studio Plat 9 I export an uncompressed avi with audio settings:
PCM Uncompressed 44,100Hz 16Bit Stereo
Opening this file in Quicktime and there is no audio available for playback or re-encoding.
Import the same avi into adobe after effects and export as an uncompressed avi (same settings) and Quicktime now has audio for the newly created avi file.
Suggestions for a fix on this?
The reason I am using this process of encoding to MOV is because I find Sony Vegas exports a lesser quality MOV file.
AND if the video is long, say one or more hours, there is NO AUDIO. (tested only on one machine but several videos)
When compressing right from Vegas to MOV, the settings I use are:
progressive scan
.9 or similar pixel ration
video format of either Sorenson 3 or H.263
24 bpp color
quality high
unconstrained data rate
uncompressed audio 44.1/16 stereo
I mention the second issue in case there is a fix for that as well.
