Subject:Tempo Change without affecting MIDI

I want to import or record midi that has no timing information, or in other words not played to a click or metronome, then be able to insert tempo changes to match the performance so that additional midi or audio loops will line up with the original free-flowing midi. I DO NOT want to the modify the original midi in any way whatsoever!

Is there any way to to do this? I see one-shot audio will not take tempo changes and I could convert the midi into this then apply tempo changes, but I'd rather be able to edit the original midi after the tempo gets figured out.

Thanks

ACID does not directly support Rubato timing/tempo. There is always a tempo.

There is no easy alternative to permit this type of workflow/approach.

It has been discussed in the past. I will make sure we revisit the topic.

thanks peter! :)

just fyi I wouldn't personally need the tempo to gradually change over time, just the ability to insert a tempo change every measure so it roughly matches the midi performance.

Thanks for your support
