BD Render options in MS Platinum missing

This is Platinum 9.0b Build 92.

I can create an m2ts file at my chosen settings, 5.1 AC3 etc and it works fine.

In the manual, there is a long list of available sound formats for DVD/BD burning listed on page59 including dd5.1 ac3. But if I choose to burn a bluray, then I only get a much more restricted set of abilities:
1. Video Format I set to Sony AVC, that's fine
2. Video Template I set to Bluray 1440-50i, 8 or 15Mbps, that's also fine.
3. Audio format: Well I have NO choice there, the only one listed is Sony Wave64, with an audio template, also with no choice of 48Khz, 16bit, 5,1 pcm.

I then end up with a disk that has no surround sound.
How come if I choose a file, I can get AC3 DD5.1, but this option is missing in the Bluray burn page please?

EDIT: Incidentally, it would also be nice to be able to choose a data rate intermediate between the 2 template choices of 8 and 15Mbps. This can be done when rendering to a file, but doesn't seem possible when creating a disk. I must be missing something obvious here surely?!

Nobody any ideas? Or does no one actually burn blurays?

The AC3 codec comes after you install DVD Architect.

Thanks for your comment Eugenia, but DVD AS is installed, since I noticed a comment to this effect further back in this forum.
The issue seems to be that Vegas 9, while it can create AVCHD files with AC3 5.1 tracks as files, doesn't have this ability with the tacked on 'Make Movie' burning capability. And of course the version of DVDAS that comes with MS doesn't write HD in any form.
Within Vegas, If you select DVD, then you don't even have the opportunity to put HD on to it in the form of AVCHD. And if you select BD, then you can only choose templates which do not have an AC3 in their audio selector, but only this odd Sony Wave64 format and PCM stereo sound.
I've even gone as far now as completely starting with a new copy of Windows and installing everything from the CD from scratch and then patching to 9.0b. But there are still no choices for BD burning.
Does your copy provide additional choices in the drop down menus on the 'Burn Bluray disk' window? If so, how did you get them!

Use Wave64 if AC3 is not availlable then. You won't really see any difference in terms of quality.

But that just gives stereo, there is no 5.1 option.

Maybe there is no 5.1 for AVCHD disks, or maybe Vegas doesn't support it. Just send an email to Sony Support.

You must first designate that you are working in a 5.1 project for the 5.1 options to be revealed in the Make Movie dialog. To do this, go to Project Properties / Audio tab and set the Master Bus to 5.1.

Then when you Make movie / Blu Ray Disc, 5.1 options should be revealed under wav64.

As I said, choosing AVCHD file as the output does provide 5.1: the project is already set to 5.1. But no options appear under the wav64, only stereo pcm.
I'll try Sony support.
