Subject:BUG: Pitch Shift processing stops after 3-5 secs

This is in SF 9e. When using Pitch Shift as process or in the Plug-In Chainer, either way it stops processing audio in real-time after a few seconds.

This appears to be a problem with SF9. It works properly in SF8 on my system.

As far as I can tell, when the Preserve duration check box is selected, this slider is limited to -12 to 12 semitones. These settings will allow the feature to sustain the pitch change throughout the file. Without this option selected, the speed of the sound will end up reverting back to the original speed.

I expect you are shifting up and not preserving duration. Preview in 9.0 delivers the entire selection length even if the effect doesn't deliver enough output to do so. In this case, if you're near the end of the file, you'll hear some dry remainder at the end of the preview.

Similarly, if you are shifting down without preserving duration, preview will only deliver output up to the selection length, which is potentially less content than is selected, though the duration is the same.

Forge 8.0 would preview whatever output the effect delivered, which is perhaps more desirable in this case. I don't remember the precise reason for the change (presumably something to do with wet/dry and fade behavior added to 9.0 for the menu/dialog case) but will make a note to re-visit this behavior in the next version of Forge.

Regardless, applying the effect will still behave as expected and affect only the selected data.

If neither of these is the case, please provide the Pitch Shift settings, media properties and selection, and audio device info (driver model, latency if ASIO, etc.). Please also fill in your system specs in your forum profile.
