Subject:Sony Acid Music Studio 7 and Line6 Gearbox...HELP!

Hello everyone.

I received for Christmas Sony Acid Music Studio 7 and a Line6 Toneport DI-S with Gearbox plugin.

I have installed everything and updated firmware and the Gearbox software and hardware by itself works great!

BUT...When I import the VST files from Gearbox into ACID, I can't hear my guitar. I have tried many different sound card settings but nothing works. But if I plug my guitar straight into the PC, I can hear the guitar fine through my PC speakers. I need to find a way to hear my guitar when I use the Gearbox plugin though ACID. It senses the guitar and the volume bar goes up when i play but I hear nothing.

Someone help!!!!!!

Do you have the TonePort chosen as your input, and your speakers chosen as your output?

Do you have input monitoring enable in Acid?
The Gearbox plugin is is for changing a signal after it is recorded. There's really no need for you to use it.

ACID Music studio does not provide software input monitoring. This is a feature of ACID Pro.

However, I believe the TonePort+GearBox tools provide a solution.

You should review the section in your GearBox documentation titled:

Using Your Line 6 Hardware

Specifically, refer to the section

ToneDirectâ„¢ Monitoring

I could have sworn by the picture of the DI on the Line 6 site that it had no headphone output, but the specs say it does.

If you just use the headphone out, you'll hear your guitar and the other tracks you recorded too. I think you can use that jack with speakers too.

You have to have both Gearbox and AMS running to use ToneDirect monitoring.
