Unknown/ac3, Perfect Clarity,not enough permission -ACID Product Family

Maybe there's an angel out there who could help me? It began when my plug-ins started saying "Unregistered" and the accompanying folders were empty. So, I followed the suggested protocols: uninstall, clean install, regedits, install under another user, change permissions, etc. All failed. Now, when I try and install it stalls at the very end and I get a message that says "Could not open key: UNKNOWN\ac3 -- (or one that refers to Perfect Clarity) -- "Verify that you have sufficient access to that key..." So I'm stuck, frustrated and have jumped through all the hoops that tech support has asked me to. Does anyone have a suggestion or fix? Thanks, Gary
