Sorry for my huffy attitude, but I'm more than just a little annoyed. I am trying to record music from a Technics keyboard to a Dell. I purchased a MIDIsport Uno USB to MID cable. First, what ports do I connect the cable to - In to In/Out to Out or viceversa (I read the latter is right, but doesn't make sense). So I'm not sure I have that set up right. Secondly, I am not able to play anything back on Acid. It looks like something is being recorded but nothing is coming out of the speakers. I admit I'm not very "recording" literate, but i'm not computer stupid either. Something's not right. I really don't like the scanty directions you get with this program either. The MIDI cable came with no directions and when I tried to download the program it said it was not Microsoft Certified, which doesn't make sense because it says it is on the box. I'm just really aggravated with this whole thing. Anybody want to talk me through this? PLEASE! Marie

Connect OUT from your midi controller to the IN on the Uno
Create a midi track in Acid
Create a soft synth in Acid
Assign the midi track to output to synth you created
Make sure the Uno is enabled in Preferences on midi tab
(note- on midi devices anytime you see OUT just imagine it like basic plumbing- you want pipes with water coming out to be connected to other pipes where the water will go IN- so an external controller needs to get it's data Out and In to the software or other midi device you are trying to work with)

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile.

What audio hardware are you using for playback?
Do you knoww which driver model you are telling ACID to use? Mapper, Wave Classic, ASIO?

If you load the sample project that comes with ACID, does it play back?
